mONDAY fundAY 2021
14er Adventure to QUANDRY Peak. This 14er is accessible and has one of the shorter round-trip options for a 14er on the front range (just 6.6 miles). Family & friends are welcome to come hike with us, just be aware that everyone should be responsible for self and their group. I will supervise XC athletes on the mountain and would love for all adults involved to help me keep an eye on everyone.

TIME FRAME:
We will plan to meet at the Shuttle Parking at 8am. I know it is early, but it allows us time to get up and down the mountain without worrying about icky weather. WHERE TO PARK: We will drive from Brighton (appx 1hr 45min) to the Breckenridge Airport Road FREE Shuttle. This shuttle is first come first served and runs every 30 minutes--you must wear a mask while on the shuttle. If you choose to park at the trailhead, you must pay and make a reservation . WHAT TO EXPECT: Once you get to the shuttle, get on and get going to the Trailhead. DON'T WAIT for the rest of the group! We will all meet up at the Trailhead. For that reason, Wear Layers! It will be cold while you are waiting. The temperatures can range from 30º-70º F in the fall — and that’s in one day. Our starting temp is likely going to be in the low 40s, but don’t freak out. It will warm up and you'll break a sweat on the way down if it’s 75º F and sunny. You never quite know what to expect, so plan for it all. While it'll be steeper and have less oxygen, a 14,000-foot mountain is still the same as any other hike. The same rules still apply: Keep putting one foot in front of the other. You’ll be amazed at the ground you can cover (figuratively and literally) in a day when you just don’t quit. Stay on the Trail and Leave No Trace (pick up and pack out more trash than what you came with). Uphill hikers always have the right-of-way PACK SMART: Besides food (bars & carbs) & water, expect to pack:
